Welcome to The Ink Slingers! I'm so happy to have you here. No... really! You are probably one of the first viewers on this site and honestly, I'm so grateful for that. People like you are the foundation for startups like this.
A little about me: My name is Raisin. I am a fresh college graduate with a Bachelor's in English. I like cats, anime, Genshin Impact and I've always wanted to be a writer. Ever since I won my first writing contest in fifth grade, I've dreamed of sitting in my New York City flat, sipping expresso, working on the next New York Times bestseller.
Of course, I'm far away from that, but over the years, I've started a lot of projects pertaining to the writing community. When I was 16, I created a discord-partnered server called Scribes and Scribblers. For awhile this server was the largest writing server on Discord! During the pandemic, I created a virtual convention for writers and artists called SaS Con. We had over 1000 attendees and even sponsors such as Scrivener and Clip Studio Paint. The Ink Slingers is just another one of my wild endeavors and I'm so excited to start this! I hope that the skills I've learned from my previous projects will help make this one successful!
So what is The Ink Slingers? I'm not so sure right now, but I want it to be a catch-all for writers and other creatives. I want to have regular articles filled with tips and resources as well as interviews of newly published authors. I want to have a forum where members can connect with other like minded people. I want to have a monthly magazine with the same quality as something like Writers and Poets.
In short, The Ink Slingers is a huge project. I'm working on all this one step at a time and I hope to give you the best possible product. However, these things take time and while I am working as fast as I can, it will take time. That's why I ask for your patience and feedback. If you have any suggestions or notice any problems with the site, don't hesitate to send me a message!
At the end of the day, though, The Ink Slingers is about promoting and uplifting writers and other creatives. It's difficult getting yourself out there-- I know that from experience! That's why I hope this site will be of use for you.
